Isabella is two months old

With that comes a trip to the doctor's office for her first round of immunizations.  She was not a happy camper that day, but she is still just as cute as ever.  She was in the 95% for height, 90% for head circumference, and 70% for weight.  I think we have another tall baby on our hands.  She weighed 12 pounds and perfectly healthy.  She is still waking up once at night, but we're hoping in another couples weeks we go to a full nights rest.  Makes for a much more energetic Mommy.  I have to admit that getting her dressed every morning is one of my favorite things to do.  She has started really smiling when you play with her and even finds her voice sometimes.  I love it when they start to get a little personality. We love you baby girl.                                                           ...

Disneyland

Image
Noah got to take a trip to Disneyland with Dad this past week courtesy of Grandma and Grandpa Brinton, while the girls stayed home.  I was worried to travel with Isabella so young, so we had a nice relaxing weekend together while Noah had the time of his life.  Noah was barely 42" and was able to go on pretty much any ride he would have wanted to so it was perfect timing.  His favorites were Jumping Jellyfish, Toy Story and, of course, Mickey Mouse.  He wasn't afraid of the characters at all, which surprised us a bit.  It was the first time I think he really understood what it was to fly on a plane as was so excited to look out the window.  He LOVED swimming in the pools at the hotel and Scott said he only cried one time the entire trip, when he wanted a pack of McQueen cars that he already had at home so Scott didn't buy them.  It's fun was the kids get older to actually make all the work of doing something worth it.  I'm sure we have many more t...

I love you Noah

You soak up any praise given to you and maybe one day you will want to read this and know yourself through my eyes. I'm having a hard time getting to sleep tonight and decided to check on you and make sure you were all bundled up. The thought of you being cold is one of my pet peeves. Well you were in need of some covering and as I was placing your blanket I was nearly brought to tears by the thought of what a special boy you are. I hope I am always the kind of mom you deserve. You are the sweetest little boy and I feel really blessed to have you in my life. I love every time you walk down each stair giving me a kiss thru the railing and always laugh when I "bonk" my head on the last step. I love every time I get you anything to eat or help you put your shoes on and you say "thank you." I love every time you are trying to fall asleep you have to put your arm around my neck and pull my head in next to yours and tell me to close my eyes. I love every time y...

Thank Goodness for Dads!

Noah has been such a sweet boy with the transition of having another baby around to take care of. Phrases like "In one minute I can play," or "Not right now, I have to feed the baby" or "Be quiet, the baby is sleeping" have become all too familiar to little Noah. He has tried his hardest to be patient and quiet and I appreciate that so much. He honestly has done way better than I expected and I just wish I could tell him that it will all be worth it in a year when he has a little best friend around to play with. It's demanded that he grow up a little faster than usual. Things that I used to have time for have abruptly ended. He now puts himself into a bed and takes a nap on his own without me laying there until he falls asleep. He entertains himself in the bath much longer, he feeds himself a lot more often and sadly, watches about four times the amount of tv I allowed previously. I find myself feeling very sorry for him whenever I am holding ...

Some videos of Isabella in her first few weeks

This was taken at about 10 days old. She was acting a little fussy so I got her mobile set up and put her under it. She kept fussing around until I pushed the button that made the sound of a heart beat. You can see how calm she is and she just wanted to sit and listen. Reminds me of just how new they are. Here she is in her first week of life. She is so alert and makes great eye contact. I love how this video shows her five wrinkles at the top of her forehead. Whenever she is concentrating or looking around they appear. She kept smiling and so I tried catching one on camera, but all I got was a video of her going cross-eyed trying to look at me. Still cute anyway...

Our Family Has Grown!!!

Isabella Nicole Brinton was born on February 22nd, 2012. Weighing 7 lbs. 12 oz. and 20" long she surprised me with how small she was. They started me on pitocin around 8:00 am and by 9:30 the doctor had come in and popped my water to find that muchonium was in the amniotic fluid. They put me on oxygen after this to try to make sure she was getting as much as she could before delivery. At this point, Scott ran home for a potty break that demanded his home base. While he was gone, things got a little scary because her heart rate wasn't picking up so they had to "buzz" her. When that didn't work, they tried scalp stimulation which apparently caused it to pick up. Then my contractions really picked up around 10:30 and after requesting an epidural, I found out that the anesthesiologist was just headed in to a c-section and wouldn't be out for another hour. I waited the long hour and asked the nurse what the status on the epidural would be. She came back t...

Horses

Image
Noah LOVES horses and they are all still out and about in their pastures. It's been a warm winter and we have loved it. Lucky for us, Grandma had a whole box of baby carrots about to go bad in her fridge. We were able to take advantage and head down the "baby" horse that is by her house and unload them all. Noah is still too scared to touch them or let them eat from his hand, but throwing them seems to be just as much fun to him. Kale and Rylee always make things like this more fun.
